Today is story telling sunday for all blogging story tellers out there, created & co-ordinated over at High in the Sky. This year we are sharing tales of our Precious.
With the Festival of Quilts being held near me in Birmingham this coming week it prompted me to share with you the story of this precious gift.
Through scrapbooking at GoGo Getaway retreats I met a lovely lady called Sharon from down south. Last October Sharon contacted me saying she had been reading my blog for some time & read about the quilt I helped make for the Olympics & another I had just finished for my daughter.
She explained that her Mum had recently passed away & she had been a wonderful hand quilter & produced many beautiful quilts in her life time. Whilst sorting her belongings Sharon found a Quilters bag her Mum had made full of all the tools you need plus books & patterns and she offered them to me as she wanted them to continue to be used...
I can still remember how honoured I felt to be offered this most precious gift. The bag alone is evidence of how talented Sharon's Mum was as a hand quilter.
This precious bag now holds a collection of my tools & hers, my cottons & hers ... and when I'm quilting seeing & using this bag makes me smile & remember a talented lady I never met & her generous daughter xxx

This is truly a precious gift, how wonderful that Sharon thought of you and didn't just send it off to the charity shop, where the history would have been lost. I must check out Sian's blog as I would love to join in with this.
