Guest Designer.

Recently I was  asked if I would like to be a Guest Designer for Scrap 365's blog. As you can imagine, I was absolutely thrilled.
I was asked to create a page using their April sketch. I was inspired by the Great British Sewing Bee TV show to scrap a photo of my recent quilting project.

Sewing Bee ? Me ?

This is a copy of the April Sketch.

I hope it inspires you as much as it inspired me.

See it, Pin it, Do it - March.

If you are a regular reader of my blog you will know that last week my daughter turned 14! For each of my children I try & make them a special cake for their birthday. The boys found designs they fancied but my daughter struggled. So I turned to trusty Pinterest for ideas. I found loads of inspiration & this is what I made her...
for our family tea...
and these for her school friends as her birthday fell on a school day...
This was my first try at using fondant icing & really pleased with how they all look. TBH they were more fiddly than I had anticipated but luckily I had the time to play.
This was the inspiration image from Pinterest.
I'd call this a winner & more importantly my daughter( and her friends) loved them :)

This time next week...

I will be here  at Theobalds Park with lots of other excited Ladies ready for the start of the 12th GoGo Getaway Retreat.

This time I will be teaching 3 classes & here are the sneak peeks of them.
Felted Fancies.
 Days Documented.
 Sew Festive.
I love teaching at this event but what I love even more is the atmosphere & the lovely ladies that come from all over the country to scrap & chat & laugh.
I'll share the full layout images after the event x

Recording 2014.

Having completed Project Life for the past 2 years I was a little hesitant about whether to continue into 2014. As to be honest it can take up quite a lot of my time & I noticed particularly last year that I'm scrapping less & less which is something I'd like to redress this year.
But over New Year my family got out the 2013 albums & reminisced & laughed over the things I had recorded & chatted about what had happened & what they had forgotten...thats when I knew I would do it again this year but try & pare it down a little to reduce the time it takes me to complete it.
So here are my pages for January including...

... a curry night with friends, holiday injections, visiting my MIL, new shoes...
... A family tea for 17!, baby Jack, baking & Jamboree meeting...
... a scrappy weekend away, the weather, Rugby & our new chicken...
...coffee addiction!, choosing GCSE's, fundraising, awards & a meal out...

Can you see any differences ?
I'm trying to use saved ephemera more to help tell a story & I'm restricting myself both to how much time I have to dedicate to it & also restricting the supplies I use, rather than hunting for the perfect embellishment. I'm making simple month cards using a cut file from silhouette. I'm also trying to use more stamps to add quick & easy decoration to the cards.
Many thanks for looking x

I remember it just like it was yesterday...

...this day our family was completed by the late arrival of our daughter Harriet Rose. With 2 big brothers already at home she was never going to have a quiet life rather one filled with laughter, noise & action!
In a blink of an eye, here we are 14 years on!! Celebrating the talented, kind, beautiful girl she has become whom we are so very proud of.
Happy 14th Birthday Baby Girl xxx

Seeing Circles x

Over on the Scrapology Blog our latest card challenge is live. My lovely DT bud Karen chose that this month we needed to use circles or dots on the cards we made.
This is what I've come up with using my scraps box & a couple of sets of spellbinders dies.

This card has already  been received by it's lovely recipient x
For this one I used a couple of punches to. There is something satisfying about using up the small bits of paper I hoard x

Hop on over to the blog for loads of card inspiration x

Happy ?

Over on FB & Instagram at the moment there is a challenge called #100happydays. It's so easy to take part in & lets face it we can never have too much happy in our lives. In fact the little happy is already there, it's just this challenge helps you focus more on the little things & that can only be a good thing, right?

These are my first 5 photos. It's a personal challenge so these pics may not make sense to you but each & every one of them makes me smile...& thats the point :)
To finish here is a little of Pharrell Williams, Happy.

One Photo & Twenty Words.

Today I'm joining in with this wonderful meme designed by Abi over at Creating Paper Dreams.

Laughter is the best medicine for the soul I find.
A brilliant night out, thoroughly recommended but really rather rude!!

Silhouette Love

I can't deny that I use my Silhouette more than any other cutting machine I've had in the past & I've had a few... I've been trying to analyse why that is. Firstly it's in a convenient place in my craft space close to my computer, rather than out of sight, out of mind like some other gadgets I've owned. It doesn't take much computer know how to get it set up & working. Also the Silhouette store sell low priced cut files which are all up to date with current trends making it easy to choose, buy & cut a shape as you need it.
A prime example is here on this page. I wanted a way to start my Singapore Holiday album & on browsing the store I saw this grid in their popular section.

Using a few left over photos,  some travel embellishments, stickers & some postage stamps I've created a title page I'm really happy with.
I know it's a gadget that may not suit everyone but for me it's just perfect.
