See it, Pin it, Do it x

This is a new monthly meme that Fiona has devised over at Staring at the sea. I'm a huge fan of pinterest & have lots of things pinned to make, sew, cook... when I get the chance.
Last week my Daughter was looking for something new to bake so off to check my pinterest cooking board & we saw this image of cookie monster cookies.
Using just the ingredients we had at home we set to work & the results not only looked good but tasted fab.
They had to be eaten within 24hrs of making as the cookie part started to soften but TBH that wasn't hard in this house!!
Now I'm wondering what we should make next :)
Many thanks for looking x

Mothers Day Card Challenge.

Our card challenge over on the scrapology blog this month was set by a regular contributor to the blog, Krafty Karen. She challenged us to make a card for Mothers Day or a Special Lady x
This is mine, You are loved.
I love this cathedral quilting technique for using up my scraps but have never used it on such a small scale before. The effort was worth it as I love the finished look x

Hop on over to the blog for all the details on how to enter & the prize on offer :)

Cards for my Valentines x

Every year I send 2 cards on the 14th of February, one to my Husband & one to my Dad. It's a wonderful tradition that I love that started when I was a girl & has continued ever since.
To help me make my Valentine cards this year I turned to my trusty Silhouette for help & after searching their store I found 2 cut files that were perfect.
This one for my Hubby x
I love the teal with the black & white as a different valentine colour combo.
This one for my Dad x
I matted the valentine eye test on cardstock & vintage book paper from a gardening manual before adding the specs.
Both cards were very well received.
Many thanks for looking x

Making a Mess ?

Over the course of the last 6 months or so I have made a conscious effort to make a lot more of the cards & gifts I give to friends & family. Which makes total sense considering the fabric, wool & paper mountain I've amassed over the past few years!!

So with that in mind I set about decorating a small canvas in a messy style for some friends.
Having covered the canvas in book paper & a coat of paint, I used stamps, bubble wrap, rub ons & a silhouette die cut plus brush pens & ink to create the effect I was looking for.
I'm really pleased with the result & know they are too.
Now I need to get planning for more gifts for this year x

One Photo & Twenty Words...

As it's the 9th of February, it's time for 1 photo & 20 words with Abi over at Creating Paper Dreams.
This year I'm aiming to tie this in with my OLW to remind & help me stay on track :)

As a Assistant Beaver Scout Leader.
Proud of myself,
enjoying giving back to scouting

Explosive Scrapbooking.

Over on the Scrapology Blog, this months scrapbooking challenge is X for (e)Xplosion. The sketch we have used is based on a superb layout by the very talented Corrie Jones.
This is my interpretation.

Sophisticated Selfies.
To get the explosive background effect, I first dry brushed the paint onto the cardstock before adding drops of black & white mist, all finished with card Candi from Craftwork Cards. The title was cut using a silhouette cameo.
Hop on over to the blog to see the sketch & loads of great explosive examples x

Chalk It Up.

I've just had an amazing weekend as part of the ScrapaGoGo team that went  to  Wanborough near Swindon for a weekend of classes, challenges, eating & laughing.
On this trip I accompanied Janice & Sam x
We were based in a wonderfully light & spacious village hall.
It is ideally located opposite this quaint pub, where we ate 2 very delicious meals.
During the weekend Sam & I both taught 2 classes each.
I created a double layout using MME papers featuring my friend Annie & I having some photobooth fun.
Also I taught a mini book class using chalkboard as it's cover filled with moments from 2013 that made me happy x

It was great to see some GoGo regulars again at this event plus some new faces to me. They all made me feel so welcome & I really felt relaxed during the classes.
It's only about 7 weeks now till we all get together for the 12th GoGo Getaway & I can't wait x
