This week we went on a trip to London as we love our capital & there is always so much to see & do. Plus I tried to achieve a few more pics for Rinda's Scavenger Hunt too.
First stop - the Gromit at Paddington Station.
Next - Platform 9 3/4. We are huge Harry Potter fans & as the queue wasn't too bad we got the chance to take some snaps here.
We are fans of Musicals & during August there is a deal that children go free at some performances & we got a free ticket for Harriet. The Body Guard was fabulous & I would recommend it to you. The lead lady has the most amazing voice.
SH-2) Theatre for the Performing Arts - Adelphi Theatre.
Afterwards we walked over the Millennium Bridge to get some night shots.
We had tickets to visit Buckingham Palace on wednesday. The Queen's Gallery houses some delightful works of art and The Royal Mews was really interesting as we got to see royal cars, coaches & horses.
In the State Rooms photography is forbidden but that's ok as we were completely captivated by the grandeur of their decoration, furniture & chandeliers. As a special treat this year the clothes used during the Queens Coronation are also displayed showing the hours of workmanship that went into designing & making of them.
Afterwards we stopped at the Garden Cafe for lunch & a walk through the garden.
As the weather was dry we walked to my most favourite London icon, Elizabeth Tower. I never tire of seeing it & photograph it every time!
SH 8) - A Tower.
I love spending time with my Girl & we enjoyed chilling in Trafalgar Square in the sunshine.
We also took Harriet to Camden to show her the markets & canal as it was a regular haunt of ours when we lived in London in the early 1990's!
SH Bonus- A person wearing an outfit which symbolises your country.
This item on the Scavenger Hunt list has had me thinking & I wondered if either of these gentlemen fit the bill!!
House Hold Cavalry at Horse Guards Parade or a Punk!!
I do like the punk shot and I think they look very British. Brilliant captures for the hunt x
ReplyDeleteI love visiting London as well....I never get bored of it.
ReplyDeleteI think your 2 people symbolise our country very well.....I remember when my brother was a punk!!
Punks ...oh my ...how they used to fascinate me when i was young. great photos and you got the best tower x
ReplyDeleteJust being in London makes me wonder why I don't visit it more, so much to see, I love it. I really enjoyed seeing it through your Instagram pictures too x
ReplyDeleteI love London, - glad you had good weather on your visit. We are returning to London after our holiday.
ReplyDeleteWhilst queuing, order a bottle of Spanish white to sip with a few snacks (like ham croquetas, pan con tomate, and so forth), until your place around the bar becomes available. Once seated, you must order their classic tortilla. london icons
