Me on Monday

Late again but what the heck... here I am joining in with this meme from Sian x
This weekend has been the most special as we celebrated being parents for 21 years!! I still can't believe it, this boy has towered over me for many years but how can he be 21.
We also did what we have done on this weekend for the last 21 years - put up our tree. It's a birthday tradition. It has a night with just lights before the real decorating begins.
Monday found me getting ready for a Xmas night out with the girls x
Have a good week.

My Minds Eye - My Story.

Today I thought I'd share my Hey Little Magpie DT pages from October with you. I've used MME - My Story range for them all.
You give me butterflies.
I used my Fuse Tool to seal these fussy cut butterflies in this jar.
You still pull my heart strings.
I stitched my white on white title down.
 Love.
Apologies for the photography of this page, photographing white in the winter is the pits. I hand sewed over the die cut for this page.

Playing catch up

I thought I'd show you what I created for the HLM blog way back in September.I focused on the cork numbers in the Crate Paper Wonder range.
1 love.
I embossed the cork number with gold powder for this page.
 Just us 2.
I left the number au natural but used it for inspiration for the background.
 Hello cake!
This time I changed the colour of the cork with gelatos.

Frosty Festivities Blog Hop

Welcome to the Frosty Festivities Blog Hop.
At this time of year I like to make a start on my Christmas makes. This year I plan to crochet some decorations and some present tags. For these sort of makes I usually find  free patterns on Pinterest.
I chose a tree design this year. After crocheting this "Granny Square" style tree I sprayed it with laundry spray starch & allowed it to dry naturally, to help it hold it's shape when on my tree.
I've also made a selection of these small stars to decorate special presents with. They still have a hanging loop so the recipient can use them as a decoration if they so wish. Here's a close up.
I'm now planning on making some bunting with lots of multi coloured stars to decorate our bannisters.

UKS Weekly Challenge

One of my UKS team mates, Nikki has organised the weekly challenge over there this week. We were challenged to use...
5 patterned papers
5 Project Life cards
mixed media
gold or silver

This is the page I made, scraplifted from a lo I saw on pinterest.
I've used mainly Fancy Pants Summer Fun papers & embellishments plus a cut file from The Cut Shoppe. The two tags have gold edging & I've added some gold mist splats for the mixed media element. The photos were taken during a reunion in Australia last year & suit the colours well.
Many thanks for looking.

Recording the good times.

After spending a wonderful weekend surrounded by family I realised I hadn't shared the pages I'd created using some of my Brother & SIL's weeding photos from June.
They were made for my August HLM post using Basic Grey Barista.

The 'spread the love' envelope contained seeds for the guests to sow & I wanted to incorporate it into my page.

I couldn't choose one frame so I used lots! Plus I hand cut one to take this stunning photograph.

Focusing on a flower. All the leaves are hand sewn in place.
For all the details of the products & techniques used please hop on over to the Hey Little Magpie blog for details.

Me on Monday

Today finds me joining in with this meme from Sian x
Our Saturday was all about fetching & carrying as we gathered 40 chairs, 6 tables & countless glasses, plates & cups & saucers at our home before heading out for a special family meal out to celebrate my parents Golden Wedding Anniversary.
Our Sunday saw us hosting afternoon tea for 45 people in our home with my lovely parents as guests of honour. It was wonderful to see them surrounded by friends & family laughing, chatting & reminiscing. With hand written  messages on their tag tree, fizz to toast this wonderful couple & a beautiful cake(made by a friend) the day was just perfect x

Today finds me shattered & planning an early night.
Hope you have a good week x
