See it, Pin it , Do it - June.

For this month's SIPIDI, based over at Fionas I went back to my Pinterest food board looking for inspiration for a summer lunch dish to cook for friends.I'd pinned a few tart recipes a while back, so that it was about time I tried one.
I cooked a puff pastry tart filled with red onion, goats cheese, tomatoes & thyme.
It was really easy to make & tasty with a dressed salad & just the right amount for a lunch time get together.
The Ladies enjoyed it too. Next time I'd probably add panchetta but I was cooking for a vegetarian this time.
Hop on over to Fionas to see what other Pins are being tried :)

Boxing Clever.

Over on the Scrapology blog our June card challenge is live and to keep right on trend it's a box card.
Here is mine x
I've made it for a special couple who are celebrating their silver wedding anniversary later this year.
I admit it was a little fiddly to put together but I learnt to keep folding it flat during the making process just to make sure all the embellishments I was adding would fit in the envelope I wanted to use.
These types of cards are so versatile, hop on over to the blog to see plenty more examples & the prize on offer this month x

A different sort of blog hop.

Last Monday I was tagged by the lovely Jessie and fellow Scrapology DT member Lynn in this ever expanding blog hop which you have probably seen springing up in Blogland.
I've really enjoyed getting to know fellow bloggers a little better & now its my turn to answer 4 creative based questions & tag others for next monday.

So here we go.
1. What am I working on?
I have a number of things on the go at the mo. Firstly my May pages for Project Life. I'm trying really hard to simplify my style so I can keep up to date & it seems to be working...fingers crossed!
I'm also doing some final class prep for a ScrapaGoGo event that I'm teaching at on 28/29th June.
I've usually got a Scrapology blog layout under construction too but we work in advance so I can't share any pics just yet.
In my other hobbies I have numerous UFO's including,a crocheted granny square blanket in production, a couple of quilt tops cut & ready to go & a half started embroidery too.
I'm also making & selling small items to help raise funds for Unit 82, Scout Jamboree Contingent to go to Japan next year, which my 2 youngest are part of, so my mind & my hands are usually busy!!
2. How does my work differ from others of it's genre?
To be honest I'm not sure that it does but I'm ok with that. I feel I don't particularly have a style but I enjoy trying new products & techniques on my pages.
I'm very lucky that I have a room to create in. I scrap standing up as I find I'm more likely to pick up & use my supplies this way!! How bad does that make me sound :D

3.Why do I write/create what I do?
I have these guys to thank xxx
I feel to a degree it's in my genes, part of who I am & the creative environment I grew up in where everything we needed was grown, cooked, baked, crafted, sewn...I can't imagine a time when I don't make something...creating makes me happy.
When it comes to scrapbooking I really enjoy the process, choosing a photo, the papers, the bits & pieces as well as recording our memories in such a way that our stories will live on long into the future.

4.How does your writing/creating process work?
I find that I am inspired my many things from photos, stories I need to scrap, paper ranges, sketches, pinterest...I just go with the flow which is what I love about crafting :)

Many thanks for sticking with it to the end.I hope that it all made sense & you now know a bit more about the 'creative' me x

For next Monday I tag Jackie x

Jackie, is a Lancaster lass living in Birmingham, who has been crafting since 2008.  She started attending a card making class and was introduced to scrapbook from there, and once she had found scrapbooking she never looked back.

Happy Hopping.

#100 Happy Days

Today marks my hundredth happy day!

When I first heard of this idea - #100 Happy Days I was skeptical...posting a photo every day of something that made you happy ...but I was up for giving it a go & joined some friends who were posting their pics on FB.I added mine to Instagram too.
Now I would say that I would really recommend it. I admit it was tough some times but if you really look you can always find something to be happy about how ever small & I think it makes you appreciate your life that little bit more.
I am going to miss it but I'm recording all my photos in my PL album to remember the little things that make me Happy.

Say it with flowers.

Over on UKS I belong to a group of lovely Ladies who each month set themselves a sketch challenge to keep them creating & filling their albums.
This month it was my turn to choose the sketch & add a little twist to it. I picked the current scrap365 sketch as I was hoping to have a go at it anyway & I added the use of  flowers as my garden is blooming lovely at the mo.
This what I came up with.
The papers & embellishments are mainly Maggie Holmes with a little Dear Lizzy added. The chipboard word was made shiny with Gold Buff-it to co ordinate with the splatters & flowers. I think I covered the flower brief!!
This is the sketch I used. I've stuck pretty much to it, just flipped it & lowered the cluster so we can see more of the beautiful paper.
Many thanks for looking x

Refresh Your Craft & Soul Blog Hop

Welcome to all the Hoppers on the "Refresh Your Craft & Soul"Blog Hop.
I am thrilled to be involved in this hop & if you comment on all the blogs involved you are in with the chance of winning a fabulous prize.

This page was created to express and record how I Refresh my Craft & Soul.
Most days I like to go walking with some lovely local Ladies, in fact it's more like Power Walking  as we go at a fair old pace!!
The journalling on this page reads "I have definitely found a form of exercise that makes me feel better inside & out...Power walking makes me go outside, breathe the air, clears my head, helps maintain my weight & gives me time to chat! So far this year I have walked over 286 miles & worn out a pair of trainers!!"
You may wonder how I know how far I've walked. I use an app on my iphone which uses GPS to track where I walk, how far I went & the calories I burnt. Map My Walk app has proved extremely useful.

If you comment on all the blogs in the hop, finishing at www.jennifergracecreates.com to let Jennifer know you've been all the way around, then you'll be in with a chance to win a refreshing prize pack featuring Glitz 77 and My Mind's Eye Izzy items, total worth over £25! All entries must be received by Monday the 9th of June at 10.59pm BST.
Your next stop on this hop is Jennifer Grace.

Happy Hopping.

T is for Trellis - challenge.

Over on the Scrapology blog this months scrap booking challenge has gone live. This month we are lifting a layout by the talented Gabrielle Pollacco which uses trellis in its background.
With all the lovely weather we have had recently, I chose a photo taken a few years ago, ofmy daughter, when we were holidaying in Woolacombe, Devon.
Summer Love.
I cut the trellis & title word on my silhouette cameo. The patterned paper is MME (find your wings & fly).
Hop on over to the blog for the sketch & other great examples to kick start your inspiration xxx
