Pay it Forward - 4

I got involved with this
wonderful idea via facebook
& have now sent 4 of my 5 gifts
out to their new owners.

This Strawberry Needle case
was my latest gift.
Made from sparkly felt
& all hand embroidered & beaded,
I'm really pleased how it turned out.

I had a lovely message from it's new owner too
which makes the making so worthwhile x

On my desk

I have this lush
ScrapaGoGo October kit
to play with.

The bright colours of the Crate & Jillibean Soup papers
reminded me of a Little Tikes Playhouse
we used to have in our back garden
when the children were small.

No Place like Home.
These are pics of Harriet from 2001
loving "her" little house.

The Maya Road mini canvas tags
were beautiful to embroider my
title on using chain stitch
& floss from my own stash.

The Studio Calico veneer houses along with the
crate brads made cute little clusters
on this page.

Thanks for looking x

Don't cry for me ...

I have to admit I'm a HUGE fan of musicals & have watched lots of them. Some more than once, locally, in our capital & even in New York. I get completely engrossed when I watch & find the whole experience enthralling.

Last night we went to see Evita in Birmingham & what an amazing show it was too. The leads voice made the hairs stand up on your arm with strength & emotion, the show contains lots of songs that we knew. I would certainly recommend this show to all & would be happy to watch it again.

To make our evening really special we ate at Las Iguanas a fabulous Mexican within walking distance of the theatre.

We already have tickets for 2 more shows next year, I can't wait.

Days out

I've used more of my September
Curiosity Shop
for this page.

Dad & Daughter days.
These two love nothing more than
going out for the day on their bikes
in the local countryside
& stopping for lunch in a tearoom or cafe.

I made my own embellishments for this
using the Maya Road zipper trim,
I removed some of the teeth
for a cog &gears effect.
The centres are punched from Maya Road doilies.

Happy crafting :)

Decisions, decisions...

This is our situation at the moment! we are being asked to make decisions on what feels like a daily basis.
I know you are probably thinking we have had loads of time to make all our choices & you would be right but it can be terribly hard to make costly decisions when you can't even visualise the room its for as it isn't even built !!

What we are thinking about at the moment is...

stair spindles.
Front door style.

New bed for us, I've been cutting & ripping up house mags for months!
Carpet for bedrooms & lounge.
Internal doors.

Furniture.
Kids bedding/ curtains...

Whilist being very exciting all this choosing is very time consuming & energy draining & I dread us making an expensive mistake.

Hopefully we should be in some time in November so please keep your fingers crossed that it all runs smoothly from now on x

Joining in...

I may not be able to visit the
very often
but that doesn't stop me
joining in with the challenges they run.

I loved the look of this month's sketch
& found the remains of my
ScrapaGoGo July 2010 kit
which works perfectly with this
baby photo of Harriet.

I painted & clear embossed the chip board butterflies.

Hope you like it x

Loving Granny Stripes !!

I'm loving my new hobby, crochet, at the moment & started straight away with a Granny Stripe baby blanket. Im so pleased with how its turned out. There are a few minor imperfections but Im ok with that as it's my first project & its meant to be handmade, right ?
The new owner isn't born yet but I hope he will feel snuggly & warm in my present :)

I even did a shell like edge from instructions on Sarah Youdes blog.
So my next project ?? well I'd like to do another blanket but first a cushion cover or two I think for Miss Harriets new bedroom.
I'll keep you up to date with my progress x

1st Lady ?

well not quite!
but thats exactly how I felt on saturday night
when I attended
My Ladies Night.

These evenings are a thank you
to the Ladies of the Lodge
for supporting their partners
with their masonic commitments.

As this was my night
I was thrilled to be joined by our children,
family & close friends
whose company made it
so very special for me.

Now as you know
I'm a jeans & T-shirt sort of girl
but in fact
I loved all the dressing up!
and even had my hair put up especially.

These are a few of the formal photos taken,
there are only a few candid shots
as the evening passed in a blur
of speeches, food & dancing
until bacon butties at midnight!

I even had to stand & give a speech!
which was well received
despite me being really nervous.

10 Moments at V

2.Seeing Eminem perform live.
Paul has been a fan since his Slim Shady days.

3. Rihanna
What a performer & she sang my most favourite song
Love the way you Lie with Eminem.

4.The atmosphere was electric.

5. Seeing a surprise birthday message
to me go up in front of the crowd :)

6. Watching Jessie J give an amazing performance
despite being in obvious pain.

7. Watching people read the back of Paul's
T-shirt listing all the bands.

8. feeling united by music.

9. K T Tunstall showing what an
awesome musician she really is.

10. Watching the sunset
whilst listening to live music.

New School

Today was the start of a new era for me as my youngest started secondary school! I have no clue where the time has gone as it only seems like 5 minutes since she started nursery.

Having worn collar, tie & blazer at Juniors Harriet is well impressed with the new uniform of blouse & jumper.
Heres hoping she settles quickly & really enjoys her new school.

Love Blogging

The free exclusive Hybrids
available on the ScrapaGoGo Clubhouse
were just perfect
for me to document my love of blogging.

When I started this blog in May 2009
I never even considered I'd still be regularly updating
it 2 years on.
The photo is a copy of my blog header
designed my the lovely Vicki.

The typewriter key alpha
works perfectly in this qwerty keyboard
formation to continue the blogging theme
along with the typewriter.

Thanks for looking.
