I recently received another
Pay It Forward
and it's so cute I wanted to share it with you.

The lovely Nicola has crocheted
an apple cosy for me
so my snack can be protected
whist I'm out & about.

Many thanks Nic x
I love it.

Using the Sketch x

This week it was the turn
of the DT team A
to work with the fabulous Sketch
with the twist - metal.

So Happy.

This is my interpretation
using Fancy Pants & KI Memories papers.
Wooden butterflies are Studio Calico.
I cut material flowers using a Sizzix die
& secured them with Metal brads.

Photos are of Harriet
on the 11th birthday, earlier this year.

Thrilled x

Today is GCSE results day.
We are so proud of our
eldest Son Dan
for getting fabulous results.

We also hope all the year 11's
got the grades they needed
to follow the career paths
they have chosen.

300 posts & a Birthday Giveaway

I hope you read that right & don't think I'm 300 !!

Firstly I'm celebrating my 300th blog post. When I started I never thought I would be any good at maintaining a blog but 2 years later I'm still sharing my creations, photos & life stuff with the world.

Secondly, I've had the most amazing weekend celebrating my birthday at the V Festival.

Attending a festival has been on my bucket list for a long time and can now be ticked off :)
Our expiences over the past couple of years have taught me that if there is something you want to do or somewhere you want to go then you should go for it if you can.

Please leave a comment about whats on your Bucket List & I'll send a little gift to the lucky winner picked by the random generator on wednesday.

Just Scrapping

This is a lo I made earlier this year
using photos taken at Aqualand on our hols
in Corfu last year!

It was inspired by a Lo I saw on Elizabeth Kartchners
blog many moons ago using Sassafras banner stickers.

I even managed to get a little sewing & misting on to it too.

Not just a Red Angry Bird!

The red Angry Birds I made a couple of months ago have proved hugely popular with my children & their friends. So over the last couple of days I got cutting & sewing again ( using the patterns from obsessive stitching blog) & made the Yellow one from this addictive game.

He does look angry, doesn't he?! But the kids love him :)
I can see me making a full set at this rate :)

All mixed up...

For the Mix It Up challenge over
on the ScrapaGoGo clubhouse
I created this page
using both the July & August kits.

The mix of aqua, white & greens
really suits this watery photo from a recent holiday.

The aqua trim fron July's kit looks awesome
around the Studio calico wood veneer hearts in August's kit.

A real mix of both kits.

Why not come on over
& give it a try too.

Pure Inspiration

On friday I got the chance to visit The Festival of Quilts at Birminghams NEC. Billed as the largest display of quilts in Europe & they weren't kidding. There were quilts from around the globe & covering over 200 years. Even a non quilter like myself could not help but be inspired by the designs & colours on show all filled with love, hardwork & heritage.

Some of my favourites.

this one is knitted.

Thousands of tiny hexagons!

The foundling quilt.

Traditional.

I had not realised that there was so many styles of quilting until we wandered for hours taking in their glory. These mini quilts caught my eye, they are all 12x12! I size I'm so used to in scrapbooking.

I would really recommend this show to everyone who appreciates handmade as a place for inspiration plus some fabric & crafts shopping too.

The Boy is back in Town

I am pleased to report that Dan & the Jamboree Contingent are back home safe & sound from there amazing 17 day adventure.

With loads of stories to tell & memories to keep from this once in a life time trip. The leadership team did an amazing job for which all us parents are very grateful.

Dan collected some badges for his camp blanket.

I think we will need to inlist his Gran to help with this little lot :D

Whilst I get left with this !!

Lucky for me not all his clothes made it home !!

10 Things...

...to look forward to
in the coming month.
( in no particular order)

1)My first festival experience.

2) more school holiday lie ins :)

3) blue skies & sunshine - hopefully.

4) Loads of scrapping,
with ScrapaGoGo's September DT kit
& celebrating Moxley massive's 6th birthday.

5) Dan's return

6) Dan's GCSE results!

7) My Birthday
- gonna need a few more candles than this!!

8) Catch up.
Talking, eating & meeting up
with friends which is so much easier in the holidays.

A day at the largest display of Quilts in Europe.

10) Big school shopping.
The excitement of sorting uniform & stationary with Harriet
for the step up to Seniors.

This is one busy month
& you may see some of these subjects
as future blog posts in their own right.
What do you have planned ?

Thank you for watching

The next round

Over at ScrapaGoGo
we have completed another round
of our Chinese Whispers CJ.

Enjoy the View.

I used ScrapaGoGo's July add on kit
Show Time & exclusive stamp
to make this Lo.

I adore the Pink Paislee Daily Junque paper
& cut from it loads of elements
to surround my photo.

Here is Josies lovely Lo
that I lifted.

For this lift I think I've kept
pretty much to the original.

I used the single central photo
& the busy shape around it.
Plus the 2 smaller shapes, with one holding the title.

New Wheels...

When I look at this photo
I can't believe it's been 4 years
since Paul surprised me
with a Mini for my 40th birthday.

I have absolutely loved driving this car
but due to some technical faults
it needed to be changed.

So I opted for yet another Mini :)
The children say
this one looks like me
but we won't go there!!
