Getting in the mood...
Now that our house move has been postponed till mid January, we are trying to feel properly Christmassy . Our tree is now up & twinkling beautifully :)
I also went to Carols by Candlelight with my Mum & had a good old sing song. Saint Christophers Curch looked beautiful as we arrived.
It's certainly getting us all in the mood.

Time for a quick sketch :)
over at Twisted Sketches
it's my team's turn to create with sketch 132
with the twist - Glitter.
At the castle with my Prince.
I know a bit of a soppy title!
but recently we've barely get to spend any time together
& these photos capture us
being close
albiet only for a weekend!
The brick effect was inked through a mask.
The rest was leftovers & off cuts
plus some glitter brads.
I love the feeling of using up some stash :)
many thanks for looking x

A Real Change
Here is a Lo
I made recently whilst away with friends.
It features Me !!
in a lovely photo taken by Anna Bowkis.
A real change ??
Firstly many thanks Jackie for the title
& oh yes it is a big change,
I'm talking about the colour
I'm wearing!!
As a "strawberry blonde"
I've always avoided this sort of colour
but this blouse was an impulse buy
& everybody loves it,
so I certainly will wear it again.
I am so going to miss Sassafrass papers,
the colours were perfect here.
The brick pattern was inked through a mask.
Hope you like it.

Journal Your Chistmas 1-5
I've taken part in this project over at least the last 4 Christmas's. I love the idea of recording the big & the small things that make Christmas so very special plus all the family activities & birthdays that fall in this month too.
The only down side for me is I never finish my journal on time & end up playing catch up over a few months.
So this year I thought long & hard about whether I should start a journal whilst packing up a house to move but the family consensus was YES.
I've gone for a different size & I'm limiting both the time I spend on the pages & the amount of embellishment too to try to help me stay on track... so here are 1-5.

On this day...
On this day in 1994
I became a Mum
for the very first time
when Daniel James
arrived in this world.
Today he is 17.
We have watched him grow
into a wonderful, hard working
fun loving man
affectionately known
as Smiley to all.
Happy Birthday Son xxx
In a blink of an eye
we've gone from me holding him
to him holding me!!

Coke in Coventry
I have a real "thing" for Diet Coke!!
So when I heard that
the Coca-Cola truck
was coming to Coventry,
I just had to go & see it.
Watching the Coke Ad on the TV
is a sure sign for me that
Christmas is on it's way.
I would have loved to have seen it
in the dark
looking lit up & festive
but unfortunately
it was only with us 9 - 1
You can track it's next stops here .

Advent style
Here is the last Lo
I've made using ScrapaGoGo's
December kit
Fauna & Flora.
Our Traditions each Christmas.
I've used some of the doors from the
Websters Botanical Christmas paper
to create a mini advent style Lo.
Behind each door is a photo
& journalling about 5 traditions we
perform in this family
each Christmas.
The alpha & embellishments are all cut
from the exclusive Hybrid sheets
ScrapaGoGo provide FREE
each month to co ordinate with their kits.

Holiday postcards
I've been creating this week
with ScrapaGoGo's December Kit
Fauna & Flora.
The add on stamp
has the most awesome postcard design
which I think will be a really useful
addition to my stamp collection.
Escape.
I've used the stamp on this page
to create a mini album
to hold more photos & journalling
from a recent weekend away.
Using both sides.
The design was completed with the hybrids
& elements cut from the Websters Botanical Christmas paper
& the Pink Paislee wooden alpha.

Poorly Girl
Well it might be cold outside but here we are housebound, not by the weather but by chicken pox!!
I could have sworn she had it when she was at nursery but regardless she has it now!
Luckily Shes not covered in them but it's certainly making her feel poorly :(
The only good thing is she is able to read more of the Twilight books which she loves!

Olympic Quilters ?!
Over at Twisted Sketches
it was the turn of my team
to work with this weeks
sketch & twist - Flower.
I've had these photos since the summer
but till now I've not
had the right Lo in mind.
Olympic Quilters.
My friend Pam at the Nuneaton crop
suggested we get involved with a scheme
to make quilts for all the countries
taking part in the London 2012 Games.
Now please remember we are all scrapbookers
not quilters but
we were up for the challenge.
We all made squares for the quilt
but Pam, Rach & Sharon
did the bulk of the work.
It looks amazing
if I do say myself :)
Our quilt is now with the organisers
awaiting a huge display in the spring.
I can't wait to find out who is getting our quilt.
I pieced the background of
basic grey papers together then
zigzagged them down.
Felt flowers made using
descending circles with button centres.
Alpha- Thickers.
Being involved with this project has
made me realise that I would love to
have a go at quilting agin,
maybe next year.

Oh Boy ...
This is a Lo I made recently
featuring my eldest son Dan.
Soon to be 17 & eligible to drive!
it's not often I get a photo of him
so it had to be scrapped.
All Grown Up
created using random leftover papers
( I'm trying to mix my patterns a little more)
& bits & pieces
plus buttons, stamps, masking tape & paper clips.
I'm really chuffed with how it turned out.

worth getting up early for
I know we all lead busy lives and our children do too but today I took the time to really watch my daughter enjoy herself and show how confident & skilful she has become. It was cold despite being bundled up but well worth it as her smile kept me warm on the inside x

Finding inspiration
I've been creating again
using the December kit
Fauna & Flora
from ScrapaGoGo.
In the kit there is always a great mix of papers
& this month I was completely wow'd
by the Authentique ones.
They have a little quote on the manufacturers strip
& I think thats a really cute idea
so it set me off
looking at quote sites
looking for a title for this Lo.
Sadness flies away on the wings of time.
The Hambly acetate was easy to sew down
using my sewing machine & I didn't gut the back
as I prefer not to see the Lo
behind when it goes in my album.
The Prima resin bird looks right at home
perched on the bird cage.
A Maya Road Beaded Center completes
my embellished photo corner
along with Websters Botanical Christmas paper
& a Prima leaf.
How do you choose your Lo titles?
thanks for looking x

Garden Guest
Over the last few days I've been creating with
ScrapaGoGo's December Kit
Fauna & Flora.
Here is my first Lo
to show you.
Garden Guest.
The Websters Botanical Christmas paper
was just asking to be cut out :D
The embellishments used are from the add on kit
Go 2 Pieces.
I couldn't help myself
& used lots of them here
as they are so gorgeous.
If you need some inspiration
hop on over to the gallery
to see all the DT's work
with these kits.

Christmas is coming...
I know Christmas is on it's way when I recieve a stunning Poinsettia from my parents.
This has become a tradition over the last few years and I love it.
It stands on the kitchen windowsill looking so cheery & festive that you can't help but feel a little in the Christmas mood :)
Now I just need to remember to keep watering it !
