Over at Twisted Sketches
it was the turn of my team
to work with this weeks
sketch & twist - Flower.
I've had these photos since the summer
but till now I've not
had the right Lo in mind.
Olympic Quilters.
My friend Pam at the Nuneaton crop
suggested we get involved with a scheme
to make quilts for all the countries
taking part in the London 2012 Games.
Now please remember we are all scrapbookers
not quilters but
we were up for the challenge.
We all made squares for the quilt
but Pam, Rach & Sharon
did the bulk of the work.
It looks amazing
if I do say myself :)
Our quilt is now with the organisers
awaiting a huge display in the spring.
I can't wait to find out who is getting our quilt.
I pieced the background of
basic grey papers together then
zigzagged them down.
Felt flowers made using
descending circles with button centres.
Alpha- Thickers.
Being involved with this project has
made me realise that I would love to
have a go at quilting agin,
maybe next year.
what a great challenge and looks fab and a great LO xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous layout and quilt - you must start quilting next year - my offer still stands xxx
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful, and you've made the perfect quilted lo to show it off. Love those felt flowers - perfect to use circles like the Olympic Rings.
ReplyDeleteI recognise those photos!! Great LO. I ended up making a DLO as I couldn't decide which shots to use!
