Just a quick one ...

I saw this sketch over on Creative Scrappers,
and set about scrapping with it yesterday.
The photos & journalling document how difficult
I found it to get into the rings in the wave pool on holiday !!
The more I laughed the worse I got !!
& Paul kindly captured it on film.
The papers are Crate Paper - Brook
with added ricrac, gems and alpha.

Another year older...

This year I feel a little like the Queen !!!
We were away in Genoa on my actual birthday,
I had a fab day that started with chocolate coated strawberries
for breakfast in our cabin, a relaxed day sightseeing at our own pace
& ended with birthday cake :)
On our return home I was greeted by these beauties
that Mum & Matt had made,
they were so tasty.
We took my cards on our trip.
I had loads of lovely gifts from family & friends
which I opened on return.
My thanks to you all xxx
Heres some pics.
Loads to do/read/watch here.
I really wanted this Nike +
I'll tell you more in a later post.
The silver bead is Pandora & the glass 2 are troll.
The boys carefully brought these back from their Czech trip.
These cuties were from Harriet x
my collection is growing, we have managed
to replace most of the ones I lost :)

more August Lo's

To be a Butterfly.

There are so many beautiful butterflies in this months
Scrapagogo kit
& I've used a number of them on this page.
To create the stamped background I adhered a Maya Rd
chipboard butterfly to an acrylic
block, having given it a coat of nail varnish
and then used it in the normal way.
I'm really pleased with the results.
Beautiful Lanterns.

When I saw the wonderful lantern stamps,
I knew immediately what photo I wanted to use.
This was taken at the tea cups ride at Disneyland LA.
I trapped pieces of the KI Memories lace paper between the images
stamped on acetate, to give a patterned look.
The flowers and labels are from the hybrid sheets.

Photo Challenge

Over the weekend on Shimelles blog, there has been an on line crop.
For a number of reasons I have been just too busy
to take part in the scrapbooking side
but had a go at a few of her photo challenges.

PHOTO CHALLENGE: GET CLOSE
Can you guess what we had for tea on friday evening !!

PHOTO CHALLENGE: THROUGH GLASS
This pic was taken from inside our car,
looking out at the garden fence through all the rain !
PHOTO CHALLENGE: NIGHT LIGHT
This pic was also taken from the car, late friday night.
I messed with the shutter speed and the zoom to achieve this.
PS I wasn't driving !

PHOTO CHALLENGE : NATURE
This was taken in our front garden and only cropped slightly.
really pleased with this image.
I've really enjoyed taking these pics
hope you like them too

Creating a little...

Pick Your Own.
For this page I used the August sketch from Create & Co
I took 2 of the children strawberry picking & we had such a great afternoon
picking & eating !
I used Maya Rd chipboard bunting to mount my title on
from July's Scrapagogo Kit, painted and strung on ribbon.

These are my GoGo yearbook pages for July
including a GoGo day event, our holiday in Corfu,
the boys watching England V. Bangladesh at Edgebaston
& Harriet & I completing the Race for Life.

Scrapagogo August kit

Where is this month going !
I've never known a summer holiday go so fast.
Hope you are having a good one despite the fluctuating weather.
This is what I've been making with this fabulous kit.

Momiji Love
I have been receiving these little dolls as presents
for a few years now & thought this kits feel was perfect to showcase a few.
The accordion flowers are so easy to make & add an oriental touch,
this months hybrids are a great addition to the kit & I've used 3 on this page.

Harley & Me
I wanted to show that this kit wasn't just for girls,
& here's a pic of Matthew trying a Harley out for size !
in their shop window in Florida !
The photo mount was made using this months lantern stamp
& the torn distressed edges and stapes add to the masculine feel.

I used the August greetings kit for this card.
The sentiment stamp gives a good crisp image
& the felt flower co ordinates beautifully with the patterned paper.

Thank you for looking

Quick trip up North

I have just spent a lovely couple of days at the home of a friend whom I first met at an
aqua-natal swimming class 16 years ago !!
She lives in a rural community in Saddleworth
( not far from Manchester) and we lived there too until 1998.
I took Dan with me as my friend has a son the same age.
I really had a chance to relax and came away feeling positive about the rebuild
( the plans are at the council as we speak)
and with loads of ideas for the decor,
and over a glass of wine & a curry with more local mums
laughed till I cried, literally !!!
