scrapping again !

This is my version of a Stuck sketch using Dear Lizzy papers and a old photo of Harriet from 2006. Following an on line tutorial I made a flower using fabric paper from the same range and the bunting is sewn into place on my machine.

This is my World cup class 5, using the colour combo, sketch and technique Celine described.
Only a little messy this time ! really pleased with how it turned out and used more Sassafras !
This is Matthew at 8 months old.

Thanks for looking.

day tripper

On saturday Harriet & I headed off to london on the train especially to see the Elephant Parade.
I'd seen a few pics of the elephants on FB and Harriet was keen but they were scattered all over London & I thought it would be too much for her so when we heard that the majority were in one place, the Royal Chelsea Hospital for 1 weekend, we thought why not.
The elephants were set out in rows, with over 200 to see !
The hot weather bought hundreds of people out to see them.
They were amazing up close and some were being repaired by artists ready to be auctioned off.

Harriets favourite - Cloudia
My favourite - Frank

It was great spending time together, just the 2 of us and after a wander down the King's road we finished off with tea at the Hard Rock cafe before boarding our train home.

World Cup Class 4

So far so good at keeping up to date.
Class 4 had a sketch and colour combo that I've used.
The technique is another messy one, which involved putting watery watercolour paint on a non porous surface then laying your paper over it to absorb the paint.
I have done this with 3 colours, leaving it to dry between each one.
The photos are of Harriet having a smoothie in McD's in America.

world cup class 3

This third class involved gesso, Indian ink, mists and mess !!
Now I don't like mess as a rule but in fact I really enjoyed this and will certainly try it again.
The photos are from a trip to Tenerife in 2008, taken at Siam Park water park of us and Paul's Mum enjoying the lazy river.

June ScrapaGoGo Kit Lo's part 2 !

This page shows the family on Prime Evil Whirl a roller coaster at Animal Kingdom,
it pauses for a moment ( thats when I took these pics ) before spinning back in time to the Jurassic age !
I wanted to achieve a going back in time feeling so I removed some of the circles from the Cosmo Cricket Joyride paper and backed them with the number paper.
The stamped hands are from this months stamp and the numbers are from the greetings kit.

I made this page to document how we were upgraded to upstairs on our way to Florida.
We had never been upstairs on a plane before ! and were really pleased with how roomy it was, especially Dan who's now 6 ft and how quiet it was too.
This month hybrids were ideal with the cloud and frame shapes, those fab puffy shapes made an appearance again and I split the chipboard plane to make two.

Thanks for looking

World Cup Class 2

I'm just about keeping up with these classes !
Here I have used Celine's sketch and colour combo. This photo features Matthew giving his cheeky smile, when he smiles like this at me, I can't be cross with him !! and he knows it !!
The original Lo had circles cut out of it but as I don't have that bit of kit ( yet !! ) I used buttons instead.
The faux stitching technique on the envelope.
I've used Fancy Pants and October Afternoon papers, Pink Paislee alpha stickers and other bits and bobs.
Class 3 is messy !! and as I don't like messy I really should have a go, so watch this space !

World Cup Class 1

Well the World Cup has kicked off and so has Celine's classes.
For this page I've used her class sketch and technique. There was a colour combo too but I really wanted to use this photo of Harriet using Photo Booth on my i mac & it didn't suit the colour combo so I'll save that for another page.
I've used Sassafras again ! a year ago I wouldn't have bought their papers , thinking they were too bright ! funny the difference a year makes .
I loved the resist technique Celine demonstrated, so much so I made all the honeycomb strip with it. I can see me using this again
Roll on class 2 .

June Scrapagogo Kit Lo's

All subscribers to Scrapagogo's kit club should have Junes boxes arriving at their door any time now. So I thought this was an ideal time to show you what I did with mine.

This Lo features my friends new puppy Lola, isn't she cute, she's a labradoodle (sp?!)
I used the Zing embossing powder to edge the hybrid letters and as flock on the kennel on the bespoke card. To make the collar, I used 2 of the ribbons and made a buckle from one of the Cosmo Cricket cardstock stickers.

The American Crafts puffy shapes so reminded me of these palm trees I photographed recently in Florida. For the title I used the Cosmo Cricket ready steady chip letters as a mask & used the Smooch Spritz to spray over them. When dry i removed the letters and outlined the letters.

All your own work

I saw this sketch on the Create & Co blog & knew exactly what I wanted to scrap.
Matthew had recently made a bench from start to finish all on his own for a scout badge.
The 3 pics would be an ideal way to show all the hard work he put in.

The papers are Sassafrass and Graphic 45, the letters are October Afternoon & Sassafrass plus a mixture of embelishments.

Hope you like it .

time for a change

Today I visited the hairdressers and after some thought had my hair colour changed back to my natural colour. I've been having blonde highlights for over 10 years! & think its time to give it a rest.

half term catch up ...

We stayed at home during half term so we could chill a little & so Dan could revise for his science modules and GSCE maths, which he is taking a year early.
Having studied the forecast I thought we could all do with a treat so we headed to Alton Towers last thursday for a little fun.
This crew are all daredevils but me so I went on the smaller rides ! and they did the Big 4.
They are on the second & third rows of Rita- Queen of speed !
The Charlie & the chocolate ride has a glass elevator which really makes this ride worth doing.

We all went home happy & tired.

Scrapagogo June kit cards

I love using these Greetings kits, they always contain everything you need to make great cards & would be ideal to take to crops or away with you with just a few basic tools.
The Cosmo Cricket Joy Ride Elements sheet is packed full of fab images and the rocket ship and title are cut from them. I cut a large circular aperture in this card & mounted the moon and rocket on the inside on foam pads for depth. The cute number stamps in this kit were exactly what I needed to create my blast off ! border along with some co ordinating buttons.

I used the fabulous Elements again to create this Airmail card. The envelope was easily made from a sheet of co ordinating 6x6 paper and a Basic Grey rub on applied to the stamp.
