The Great Big Swap of Small Things.

This great swap was organised by Sian from High in the Sky. The idea was simple to send an envelope of small things to another participating crafter. In fact it was so popular that Sian organised  us into 2 groups.

I received my parcel last week but wanted to wait to share it until I had heard that the parcel I posted to Jen in Canada had arrived safely & she e mailed me with that good news last night :)

Here are the wonderful goodies I received from Alana. Including lots of travel themed tags, stickers & charm, vintage doilies, wood buttons & lace. Many thanks Alana x

Storytelling Sunday - All is not lost.

Good morning & welcome to the June edition of Storytelling Sunday - my precious. A wonderful story sharing day created by Sian Fair.

Today I wanted to show you a gift I received during the Christmas of 2009. As a family we tend to put together present bags for each other full of little bits we are sure the recipient will love & this was in mine.

I knew from the start it was from my Mum as we both have a thing for tins (!) & will often buy biscuits just for the tin... but thats another story! 

The real treasure was it's contents...

 ...all her Guide badges off her camp blanket including her Queens Guide badge. I too am a Queens Guide & I was honoured & speechless by this thoughtful gift. The plan was to put her badges on my camp blanket with mine.

But in the turmoil that occurred 2 weeks later with our house fire, this little tin & contents were totally forgotten about & to be honest I thought like a lot of our possessions that they were gone for good but by some miracle they survived & resurfaced nearly a year later when we were still sorting through boxes, in almost pristine condition.

You've been framed!

Over on the Scrapology blog today the DT are sharing their designs based on a Lo by Maria Featon featuring a framed border.

Here is mine, featuring my daughter turning 13!

The papers & embellishments are mainly from Glitz with a little Prima mixed in. The birdcage was cut with a Tim Holtz sizzix die then painted. 

For my page I couldn't find a paper in my stash I wanted to use as a frame so instead I cut one from cardstock using my Cameo.I heat embossed the outer edge in copper & raised it all on foam pads for more dimension.
