More PL catch up x

Due to a number of reasons I got a little behind at the end of last year with my PL albums. Whilst I'm not stressing about this, I am keen to get them finished as documenting it all whilst it's fresh does make a difference to what I include. So here are our finished November pages.
Featuring...
...new car, fancy dress party, bonfire night...
... yearly family photo, NEC Hobbycraft Show,
 sewing retreat...
...children in need, scrapping retreat, recipes...
...crochet class at Toft Alpaca farm, Matt on a Sea Kayaking course, 6th form evening...
... day at Harry Potter Studios - Hogwarts in the snow...
...movie night, Jamboree selection weekend, Barncrafters Christmas dinner...

The more I do this project, the more I love it. At Christmas we sat & looked through all the pages I'd completed for this year & there was so much we had forgotten already!
Now to crack on with December x
Thanks for looking.

Thinking of Spring.

Whilst away a couple of weeks ago I was very productive for me scrapping wise. So I thought I'd share another page today. With the weather being so terrible with thunder & hailstones here, I chose a spring like page featuring a photo of me taken at a GoGo Getaway by Kirsty Wiseman a couple of years ago.
A Perfect Day.
I used an old sketch drawn by Shimelle as inspiration. Keen eyed scrapbookers will note I've used some really old Sassafras papers & embellishments on here which I've been hoarding as they were my most favourite manufacturers plus some other scraps & embellishments I had to hand.
Many thanks for looking x

Making & Recording Memories.

Making and recording  memories was one of the subjects I highlighted for myself when I chose my OLW - Balance. I realise that  you need to make the memories to be able to scrap or Project Life them, now I know this is  really obvious but sometimes I seem to get tied up with deadlines (mostly self inflicted)that I forget this balance whilst concentrating on getting our memories down on paper.
But recently I managed to achieve both at the same time...by going to a scrapping weekend organised by a friend, where 11 of us spent the most wonderful weekend in a lovely cottage chatting, scrapping  relaxing, eating, laughing together.
Whilst away I did a little crochet & I managed to scrap 7 pages which is a really good number for me & I'll share them over the coming weeks.
Here's one of them, I made this page for a FB Sketch Team I belong  to using a Shimelle sketch set by my team mate Julia x
This is another page for the album, from our holiday in Singapore where I'm using mainly Amy Tan papers throughout.I've layered off cuts using the photo colours as my guide.
The journalling discusses that everywhere we went people posed like this for photos & we ended up doing it too.
Many thanks for popping by.

PL - Catch up.

I've been playing catch up with this project for a while now & I'm trying to not let this faze me but to work at my own pace catching up when I can. Over Christmas we got the 2013 albums out & had a lovely look through with the children, reminding me why I do this :)  So here is October '13.
Our son was 16, a scrapping retreat with friends, rugby win...
A trip to the theatre in Manchester for a friends birthday, coffee morning, dinner with old friends, Uni antics...
Queens Scout Award, Scouting Apex challenge...
GoGo Getaway 11 & my classes, recipes, garden path revamp...
Go Karting party, Hubbys birthday, cinema & theatre visit...
Cinema visit, halloween, pumpkin carving &
painting,changing our car...

I love looking back at all the little details that would be lost if I didn't keep notes or make these albums.
Thank you for looking too x

Card Challenge - Design Seeds.

This month our card challenge over on the Scrapology blog was set by DT member ScrapDolly. She asked used to use the Thistled Blues Palette from Design Seeds as our inspiration.

I love the icy colours & after a hunt through my stash, this is what I came up with.

I'm quite pleased with them & have already earmarked their recipients.
Please pop on over to the blog for all the details of how to play along & the prize on over x

Roller Coaster of a Week...

This week is one of those weeks which has me twisting & turning, down & then up, this way & that...riding my very own roller coaster.
I know it's coming & even through I think I'm ready for it, it still catches me & takes me for a ride exposing my emotions, reliving the past...
Yesterday (12th Jan) was the 4th anniversary of our house fire & tomorrow (14th Jan) is the 2nd anniversary of moving back. The two years in between were the longest, slowest moving, frustrating years I've ever lived through. During that time I learned...
I am trying so hard to find the Balance in my life right now & I keep reminding myself that anniversaries are a good thing. They mark life events both good and bad so you can reflect, remember & then move on and that is what we are trying to do with the help, love & support from family & friends on days like these.

Need a challenge ?

Are you in need of a scrapbooking challenge this New Year ?
Hop on over to the Scrapology blog where the DT & I have been creating using a lovely sketch & the extra challenge of buttons/flair/badges - they are called different names depending where you are from :)
At Cape Point.
I loved the nautical colours present in this photo taken at the Cape of Africa last year & they were the driving force behind choosing the supplies I've used.
I made the little pennants from washi tape embellished with wood veneer.
Hope you like it. Hop on over for loads of fabulous inspiration & the January sketch to get you scrapping right away x.

My word for 2014

Firstly I would like to wish everyone a Very Happy New Year. Here's hoping 2014 is good to us all.

For the past few years I have resisted in setting resolutions for myself at this time of year as I found I set unreal, unachievable goals for myself, setting myself up to fail. So now I follow Ali Edwards example and find One Little Word to help guide me & keep me on track for the coming year.
After a lot of thought I've chosen...

 BALANCE

During this year I want to find the right balance for me between:

-eating / cooking & being fit & healthy.
-being inside & being outside.
-recording our memories & making our memories.
-being busy & taking time to relax.
-time with my family & friends & spending time alone.
-being a good person & not being taken for granted.
-feeling stressed/emotional & feeling    strong / in control.

The plan is to keep remembering this OLW & revisit this post periodically to help achieve the optimum balance in my life.
