GoGo Grab it

Tomorrow is grab it day over on Scrapagogo and this month I was lucky enough to design with the project kit. This 7 Gypsies photo tray is just delightful. The compartments are all 6x4, so are a great size to work with. All the papers and embellishments I've used are from the March kit- Fabrication, hybrids and Go 2 pieces add on kit.

I really enjoyed filling the compartments with photos of 4 generations of ladies in my family .
So if you fancy making one yourself don't forget to grab one tomorrow.

GoGo Getaway

What a fabulous weekend we have just had at the GoGo getaway, held here at Theobald's Park.
A really lovely crowd of lady delegates,a choice from 21 amazing classes taught by incredibly talented Design team members, a continuous supply of delicious food and a shop to die for.
On entering the crop room we were greeted by our own named easter eggs- yum yum, what a great way to start a weekend x
The surroundings here are so relaxing and with a few friends we wandered around the grounds enjoying the sunshine and the daffodils.I was hoping to photograph the deer but they were all hiding !

Cassie, Jackie and I .
I have made some truly special friends through scrapbooking and these Getaway weekends are truly a great way to meet like minded people. The chatting and laughter in the crop room was delightful to here.
Now I can't wait for the next one, roll on October x

postcards old & new...

This a postcard used by servicemen during the First World War to send messages home to their families.I've been collecting them ever since I came across one at a church fete about 15 years ago. I love them for the beautiful embroidery on the fronts and also for the wonderful messages on the back written in pencil using a formal type of English never heard today.
This is my first postcard since I joined ThePostcard crossing project, a group that sends cards all over the world for the pleasure of sending and receiving cards.
It travelled all the way from Poland and to really show how small a world it is, the lady who sent it has a sister living here in Coventry !

Desperately seeking mojo ...

I am finding it harder than I thought to get back in to scrapping. It has moved down my priority order since the fire and not just because I now lack supplies. I hadn't realised how big a part my wellbeing and mood played in whether I scrapped or not. I have to confess there has been times when I thought Why scrap anymore? Why not do something else, nothing else ? but deep down this hobby does make me happy and i'm going to persevere at it for now and see how it goes.

I have been looking at sketch sites for inspiration and this page is from a Sketchy Thursday sketch

Just a simple page of the 5 of us on holiday in spain.

This page Faster Faster is using the March visual challenge from Butterfly Crafts
showing Harriet ( the speed monster !) sliding down our road in the snow. The look on her face says it all !!

I would like to thank all who have kindly bought / donated craft supplies to me, I hope i'm doing them justice x
Thank you for visiting my blog, I really appreciate and read all comments x

Double Digits !!

Happy 10th Birthday Harriet
I can't believe my baby girl is 10 today! or double digits as Harriet calls it !
Where has the time gone? I can still remember clearly the night she was born but in between now seems a bit of a blur !

She is growing into a polite confident young lady who always has a smile on her face and we love her to bits.
Happy birthday Hunny xxx

Scrapagogo March Kit

The March kit is due to arrive for all subscribers and I realised I'd not shared all my pages using this vibrant kit.
This is Dan when he got his first I Pod, a few years ago.Used not only the create kit but the go 2 pieces, hybrids, stamp and bespoke little cards in this design.

This page shows my time in LA with the GoGo girls using a stamped arrow to make a spinner to show how we spent our time.

This is Harriet playing her guitar in the school christmas concert, we were
so proud and I'm pleased with the photos i managed to take at the time.
I've used the free hybrid alpha to make my title.

Happy Mothers Day

I hope you all had a happy mothers day yesterday. My day was happy but busy, firstly with Harriet s bowling party at 10am (When i booked it, I'd forgotten it was mothers day !)
Then my parents and bro came for tea which paul very kindly prepared.
I had some beautiful flowers, 3 new momiji dolls, some chocolates and a lovely poem Harriet had written for me.This badge was off one of my cards & I wore it all day with a big smile.
I certainly enjoyed being spoilt- thanks kids xx

scrapping again !

This time I used a sketch off the Twisted Sketch site (no.39 ).

The twist was to use Fabric, which i managed to do with felt circles in my button stacks and velvet brads.
This photo of me was taken by Cheryl Johnson of Feel Good photography.

Poorly Boy

The last couple of days have been a bit of a whirlwind. Dan had been feeling unwell since sunday and as it wasn't improving I took him to the GP's on tuesday for a check up.
He promptly sent us to A & E where after blood tests and an examination Dan was admitted to the adolescent unit.
Late tuesday he had his appendix removed which was inflamed and gangrenous.
Dan has made a really good recovery and was discharged today to convalesce at home.
It's so horrible to see your child in pain and I'd have swapped with him if I could, but he showed real maturity in the way he coped with it all and I'm so glad to have him home.

Scrapping...

I had a great weekend away with lots of chatting, laughing, eating and scrapping.
It was so good to see old friends again and can't wait to see them all when we get together again in May.

My mojo has been lacking of late so in order to kick start it i've decided to join in with various challenges and sketch sites.

This is my version of the challenge over on the Create & Co crop blog.
These photos of the children playing on a pedallo slide in spain were taken on a underwater camera so are not great but these hybrid frames really help them pop off the page.

What a week...

This week has certainly had a medical feel to it. After a week of being house bound my Bro is now getting back to normal. Only time will tell if the surgery has been successful. In the mean time he has to go back to work and get on with his life hoping the symptoms to not recur.
I after a minor procedure at my GP's I now have 5 stitches in my calf and yesterday ended up having blood tests, x-rays and a MRI scan all for a sore mis-shapen thumb !! I'll fill you in on the outcome when i get the results.

House update: Investigations are ongoing to find out how much damage has actually occurred. This in tails lifting floors and opening the wall cavities and will go on during the next few weeks. Paul has been back regularly during this process but I still find it so upsetting, hopefully as we start to plan the rebuild I will find it a little easier.
I am going away this weekend with some scrapping friends I've not seen for a while & Im so looking forward to their company , if any scrapping gets done, then it's a bonus .

Grab its

Yesterday was grab it day in GoGo land with lots of tasty extras that will complement your kit.
I was lucky enough to play with the mini kit which included a BoBunny Chipboard Alpha and Sassafras patterned paper and Journaling tag sticker sheet.
I used night time shots of Disneyland California to create this page.
