keeping busy whilst resting !!

I find it extremely difficult to do nothing, it's just the sort of person I am & really I probably need to learn to relax more & I am trying... very trying my Husband says :D
So whilst I am under Doctors orders to sit and rest I've been keeping both my mind & hands busy. I've watched more TV & movies this past 3 weeks than I had in the rest of this year & I've been a little surprised by what programmes are on & the sorts that I like! Come Dine with Me has to be my top new discovery!!
I've also been crocheting & these are just a selection of the infinity scarves or cowls I've made.
Next project is to finish the 4 crochet cushion covers for our lounge. Pictures to follow ;)

Get Well Soon Gift...

to myself!!
I've wanted one of these babies for quite sometime now & decided that the best time to get to know it's potential was when I was stuck at home with time on my hands.
I managed to get a super deal on the Silhouette Cameo which even included a cover to keep it dust free when not in use. Unfortunately the offer was short lived.
I'm looking forward to cutting some amazing shapes and backgrounds using files which can be purchased cheaply. I'll share more as I go.

Trying new things...

Every month I've planned to cook a new recipe or 2 & for some reason I tend to pick sweet ones & October was no exception. As Hubby Paul celebrated his birthday during the month I thought I would turn my hand to his favourite pud - profiteroles - we even had them at our wedding breakfast many moons ago!
I used a Mary Berry recipe I found on line.

They were surprisingly easy to make & so very tasty that I've had to promice I will make them again very soon.
Now to find a recipe to try in November... any ideas ? x

Catch up post x

I feel like I've been neglecting this blog a little over the past couple of weeks. I had great plans, well at least in my head!, to spend my post operative time doing lots of little jobs, finishing "Works in Progress" blogging & generally anything that I could do sitting down.
Well I'm now a week post op & my plans have proved to be a tad adventurous. I never would have believed how tired & drained an anaesthetic could make you feel but I'm on the mend & thats the main thing.
So I plan to do a few catch up posts, featuring things I missed earlier till I'm ready to be doing more.

These lovely little bags were made for a very special friend's birthday recently as she has been travelling a lot & I hope they will prove really useful as well as bringing a smile to her face each time she uses them xxx They are based on a tutorial over at the In Colour Order blog & are great for just about anything :)

Many thanks for listening xxx

Guest Designer for November :)

I was very honoured to be invited to be November's Guest Designer for the Scrapology blog.
I was sent a great sketch to work from featuring wire in it's construction. I didn't have any actual wire but I used a 12 x 12 Crafters Workshop template & ink to get the same effect.

Play to Win.
This Lo features my Son Matthew at his paint balling birthday party last year. The photos weren't good quality but cropped to a smaller size still give a good impression of his fun day out.
My page was finished with lots of little bits...wood veneer shapes, tags, grunge paper cogs, pin badges, paper clips, tickets & stamps. The red splats are made using another Crafters Workshop template.
Hop on over & have a look at all the other amazing Lo's from this months sketch x
