Happy Halloween

We are entering into the
Halloween spirit here
this year.

With a Zombie School Girl
at the scout party.

Also some pumpkin carving too

After a search on the internet
( I love google!! )
we picked 2 bat patterns to try.

Usually we just carve faces
so this was new territory
& we are really pleased with the result
considering we only had a kitchen knife
& a chisel !!

Getting messy

I've been creating
with the fabulous
ScrapaGoGo November Hybrids
& one sheet of cardstock.

1 Fine Day

I wanted to create a base for the hybrids
& the 2 photos of my Daughter
so I squeezed some paint onto the cardstock
& started to spread it around with an old credit card!
I really loved the effect this gave me
& my hands stayed relatively clean
which is the way I like it.

I grouped the hybrids in 3 areas around the photos
adding depth with foam pads
& pinflair adhesive.

The hybrids are FREE
just pop over to the ScrapaGoGo Clubhouse
& download them & print them out.

By The Sea

We've just returned from a lovely weekend by the coast on Anglesey with friends.
We saw all types of weather over the 3 day break from dry to torrential rain & high winds but this didn't stop us from having a great time exploring the coast & surrounding area with the children.

We enjoyed a sea view from the comfort of our chalet.

Theres nothing like the wind in your hair!!

A visit to Caernarfon Castle.

Walking along the shore.

A quick stop at Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwymdrobwllllantysiliogogogoch !!

We enjoyed our visit so much we are already talking about when we can return.

Cast a Spell

When it was my teams turn
this week on
to use the sketch
with the Twist - SPELL.
I remembered these photos of our middle Son
wearing various Harry Potter costumes
he got as christmas gifts.

I sprayed Mr Huey white mist
as the backdrop for the title
before adding 20 assorted brads
from his wand.

The patterned papers & chipboard - basic grey-Boxer
Alphas- American Crafts
Star sticker & calendar- Jenni Bowlin

Memoir

For this Lo
I used ScrapaGoGo's October kit
"Home Comforts"

I'm not usually big on
journalling on my lo's for many reasons,
poor spelling & hand writing are just 2 of them,
but a recent conversation with friends
highlighted that our albums don't always reflect
our true lives & that is certainly true of mine.
So I set about rectifying that by recording
the events that have affected & shaped
us over the past 2 years.

Memoir.

The journalling labels from Jillibean Soup were an
ideal way to get my journalling started.

The striped Crate paper - random modern
helped keep my writing in straight lines!

many thanks for looking xxx
I'd love to hear your views on Lo journalling.

Pay It Forward -5

This is my last of my Pay It Forward's to be sent out.
I've really enjoyed creating & making gifts for others, so much so that I certainly would sign up for it again, should it reappear on Facebook.

The gift this time is a hand crocheted brooch, the colour chosen with the recipent in mind.
I know Kirsty already loves it which is the whole aim of this scheme.
Why not make somebody's day by surprising them with a little handmade loveliness, it's a great feeling x

My sort of quote...

I saw this quote on
Pinterest
& thought it suited my state of mind perfectly.

Yesterday for the first time
I really had a good look around our new house-to -be!
it has taken me this long
as I have a real phobia
about heights & ladders.
( it also took a lot of coaxing by Paul & our builder!!)

Finally I'm starting to feel excited.
We have to make loads of decisions & choices
which is very time consuming
but this is the fun bit
turning this house into our family home.
I'm so looking forward
to being back where we belong.

Autumn Feel

This is another Lo made
from my ScrapaGoGo
October Home Comforts Kit.

I've used papers from all 5 manufacturers
in this kit to create my woodland Lo
with it's autumnal feel.

Crackley Woods.

I've hand cut the leaves then sewed them
down using hessian threads
left over after matting my photos.

Thanks for looking.

10 Things...

in my Tool Tote.

It's that time of year
when lots of scrapbooking retreats
are being held,
so I thought I'd show you
my Tool Tote contents
that I don't travel with out.

1. My Mackinac Moon open tote- I know its not content
but it's the best tote I've ever had, as it holds plenty
but doesn't block your view of the teacher & fellow scrappers.

2.Propelling pencil & rubber- essentials for me.

3. Adhesive- I like to have a selection for all situations.
So there is Zig glue for small precise gluing, DST, glue stick,
ATG gun, UHU & Pinflair.

4. Scissors- I use 3 pairs, Boots curved nail scissors for detailed cutting,
a small straight pair & Tim Holtz Tonic Studio Scissors.

5.Punches- I always carry a 1in circle punch,
a corner rounder & whichever border punch
is my favourite at that time.

6.Foam pads- both black & white, square & round.

7.Cutting - I use both an X cut guillotine
& a Fiskars Finger craft knife.

8.Sanding- I have both the Heidi Swapp edge distresser
& Basic Grey file set.

9. Pens- The tin holds white, black & brown journalling pens
from Inkssentials, American Crafts & Faber Castell.
I prefer fine nibs to make my poor handwriting look neater.

10. Others- paint brushes, stapler, cropodile
Tim Holtz ruler & needles.

Hope you have likes seeing my crop/ retreat essentials.
10 on the Tenth was created by Shimelle
so hop on over to see more 10 things x

The children say my car is "like me"
I hope they mean sporty
but in reality they mean Ginger!!!

I stuck twine to the sassafrass chipboard shapes
to create the centres.
Patterned papers- Basic Grey
Alpha - Pink Paislee
sticker & chipboard - Sassafrass

Why not hop over & try the sketch for yourself x

For a friend x

I learnt to knit last year
with patient help from my Mum.
One of the first things I knitted was an owl
( the pattern was off Ravelry)
I even made a Lo about him!!

I gave him to a close friend
& this year I made her a "Mrs Hoot"
with eye lashes & hair bow!
to keep him company :)
This is her posing in our garden.

CJ time again...

I can't believe this is our 8th lift!
this year is certainly flying.

I used my ScrapaGoGo September kit,
Curiosity Shop.
The blue & black combo
was perfect for these formal photos taken on
My Ladies Night.

The title letters are ScrapaGoGo exclusive hybrids
& Tim Holtz Sizzix die for the rosettes.

This is Josie's lovely Lo that I lifted.

Thanks for looking x
