House Building review...

Apologies for the lack of updates
on the build since the start of March!
TBH we have been having some technical difficulties
with both the electrical company
(the power cable to next door still hangs in front of our house!!)
& our temporary neighbours.
These issues have prevented me visiting the site
until recently as I'm trying not to get
too stressed over it all so I've been leaving it to Paul to sort
- he doesn't mind & is so much better than me with official issues !

Things aren't totally sorted but are much better !

First floor joists going in.

First floor external walls started.

Back view.

We visited the site over Easter with the children,
they were thrilled with the changes.
It's starting to feel like our house
& I can't wait for it to feel like our home.

Pay back ??

...I'm not sure thats what it's called !!

I was thrilled this week to receive my first
"Pay it Forward" back.
This adorable, beautifully made bag
came to me from Fay.

Funnily enough the pattern is from an Amy Butler
book & was on my list of things to make,
great minds...

Happy Easter

I hope you are having a good Easter Sunday.

Just when I think the children may be too old
for an egg hunt, they surprise me
& charge round the garden
making me laugh out loud.

I on the other hand received a non edible gift.
I've been a Rob Ryan fan for a long while
so I'm thrilled with this bag.
The quote is apt too
"you can still do a lot with a small brain "
I think this was made for me :)

We popped to Crackley Woods
to see the bluebells
& enjoy a walk before sitting down
to a big roast dinner with family.

She Art...

I was given a place on the
amazing She Art Workshop,
for Mothers Day.
Christy Tomlinson has produced a very detailed course
& you can watch her work
in real time in the videos.
her creativity is so inspiring.

This is my Week 1 girl
& I kinda like her :)

I'm not a messy kind of gal
but that could be changing !
There is something very liberating
about this creative process.
Now to watch week 2.

Pay it forward - 3

These 3 little chicks
are my 3rd Pay it Forward gift
for a lovely local Lady
with 3 children.

The pattern was a free one,
I came across one day whilst
surfing the net, as you do !
They each hold a Cadbury Creme egg !
- at least at the moment :)

I'm thrilled she likes them as much
as I liked making them.
Now to think of what to make for my 4th gift.

just scrapping

I'm on a bit of campaign at the moment
to use up some of my stash
or give it away if I'm not likely to use it,
rather than have it just hanging around.

So in my attempt to use some
here is a Lo of Harriet
using Sassafrass paper- make do & mend,
& lots of bits of ribbons.

I used the Sew Easy gadget for the lines of
embroidery & it's fab.
I defiantly will be collecting all the heads for it
so you can produce different stitches.

I know it's simple but I like it x

March in Review

I'm loving this monthly project
over on ScrapaGoGo's Club House.
It's such a quick & easy way to document
your year.

These are my March pages
covering the fabulous GoGo Getaway,
the census, red nose day, a chess cup win, man of the match
Harriets 11th birthday...

The specially designed co ordinating
hybrids are ideal to use for a mini album like this one.
Have a look at the blog for more ideas.

The last few days

Thursday was the end of term for us
& saw the Year 11
Crystal Ball.

Dan all dressed up.
He was very tolerant as his
Mum took loads of pics of him !

We are just loving this weather
& over school holidays as well :)
Harriet likes nothing more than singing on her swing !
I had a swing in our garden growing up
& I'd spend many an hour lost in thought
just enjoying the motion.
It's fab to see her doing the same...
simple pleasures.

Yesterday was my Dad's 68th birthday
so I made a victoria sponge for him.
I know I went a little mad with the butter cream
but nobody complained !

I just hope this weather continues ... fingers crossed.

Surprise present

I was at a local crop,
Moxley Massive,
last weekend to catch up with friends
& maybe get a bit of scrapping done!
When I arrived there was a present
waiting for me from the lovely Kirsty.
I love spending time with this young lady
& we try & meet when we can
despite quite a distance between our homes.

For regular blog readers you may remember
that Kirsty & I spent a couple of nights in Toby Tab
her sweet mini caravan recently,
Well my present relates to that weekend.
I'd bought a hot water bottle as I knew we would be
a little cold but as it's now the spring all I could find
was a blue plastic one in Boots :(

Anyway, look at this fabulous hot water
bottle cover Kirsty made for me x
The fabric is lush &
she has even hand quilted
around the owls & the moons.
Now I want the weather to go cold so
I can snuggle with my hot water bottle & cover.

Many thanks Kirsty.xxx

Sketch 95

its the turn of Team A this week
& here is my interpretation of the sketch
with a twist of PAPER.

Happy Days.

The majority of papers are by Fancy Pants
Thickers alpha , prima pearls.

These photos are from my first day at school !
You will need to look close at the Lo
if you want to know the year !!lol

The flowers were all punched from paper then shaped before
being attached with pin flair glue
to help maintain their dimensional shape.

Chinese Whispers CJ...

Over on ScrapaGoGo's Club House
it is time for the next round of the Chinese Whispers CJ.

Here is my Lo
Spring Beauty captured on film.

I used a mix of papers, embellishments & hybrids
from ScrapaGoGo's march kit
What a Picture !

Here is Josie's lovely Lo
that I lifted,
I rotated it once to the left
so I could use my photos horizontally.

It will be great at the end to see how all these
Lo's have progressed as they have
travelled though the hands of 10 scrapbookers x

Happy Mothers Day x

I hope all Mums had a lovely day today. I've had a great day & been made to feel really special with thoughtful gifts & fragrant flowers. Followed by tea with my parents & brother.
Now tired, full & happy.

March Blueprint to Go

Over at ScrapaGoGo
they offer loads of monthly inspiration.

This is the Blueprint To Go,
with a sketch & colour swatch
to inspire.

Here is the Lo I made from the sketch
using photos I took in 2008
on a visit to New York
to celebrate a big birthday !

For this lo I used the ScrapaGoGo March create kit
plus an add-on kit, hybrids & loyalty stamps.
