Create & co

On saturday I went to Create & co for a full day of scrapping and a great chance to catch up with some of my fellow Scrapagogo design team. I had a great time and achieved loads more than I normally do. Eileen very kindly gave me a bed for the night which meant I could stay till the end and drive home leisurely the following day.
For National Scrapbooking Day the Create & Co ladies provided 5 free mini classes of which this Lo was one. I really enjoyed fringing the mulberry paper and making the photo frames.

This page was created using Create & co's sketch for may
Featuring Harriet and her description of being ten !!

This page is about our tradition of visiting Birmingham's German market every christmas to get us in the mood.I used Butterfly Crafts May visual challenge as inspiration and an old Scrapagogo kit.

A couple of Lo's to share...

This is based on a UKS cybercrop class by Sarah Youde using ink and stitching. I really struggle with messy products but did ink the CS much more than I normally would !
Photos taken at a visit to the local woods last October and I can't believe Harriet is looking so grown up !!
Papers are all from the Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg range.

Here is another using a UKS cybercrop class, this time by Angie Woolfall using doodling and frames. I have used another photo taken on the same outing.

how cute is that !

Well the girls have been together since the weekend and Jasmine hasn't been too unkind so fingers crossed they should a become friends now ! I know it sounds silly but I so want them to get on. I enjoy standing in the garden with a mug of tea chatting to the girls !
Well Gingy started laying x

To give you an idea how small & cute that egg is, here it is with one of Jasmines.

Think I need to do some baking now to use all these wonderful eggs!

there may be trouble ahead ...

Our 2 new chickens are here :)
A black Miss Pepperpot called Dr Pepper and a Gingersnap Ranger called Gingy - think Shrek !!

Up to now we have always had black hens but Gingy is really rather cute & she will lay white shelled eggs & the other 2 brown ones.
So until today we have had them in a separate run to Jasmine, our remaining girl as integrating them involves them sorting out the pecking order - quite literally !!
It's not easy to watch but the more you interfere the longer it can go on :(
Jasmine was the boss before so I'm expecting it to go that way again- she definately has some anger management issues !!

So heres hoping they sort themselves out quicky.

Scrapagogo may kit continued

Here are the other 2 pages I made using this superb may kit.

This is certainly not the most flattering pic Paul has ever taken of me, but I love how it captures the moment of impact !
This was taken during our extended stay in Florida at Typhoon Lagoon water park.
This My Minds Eye Jack & Jill was perfect with it's rain drop pattern, I hand cut the wave shape and embellished it with Bazzill Modern Buttons.

This page shows a photo of Harriet taken at a water park in spain last summer.
When I saw the Prima Umbrella flowers in the kit, I knew I wanted to use them all!
They make an ideal base for my title, recreating the flowers in Harriet s hair.

May Scrapagogo Kit

As always I like the current kit the most- lol
but it's true, the box is just bursting with stash all co ordinated & ready to use.

These photos are of a fairy exibit at the Epcot garden festival.
This Crate Paper was just what I was looking for to create a "fairies at the bottom of the garden" sort of feel. The hand cutting round the petals took awhile but it was worth it I think.
The SEI puffy letters are easy to work with & add great dimension.

I took is photo during a thunderstorm in Florida with the rain bouncing off the furniture.
The journalling lines on the co-ordinations label cardstock reminded me of rain when they were sanded so I fixed it at an angle.
The free hybrids are fab as usual & I have included 3 here to finish this page.

gogo yearbook

I realised whilst printing photos for my april pages that I hadn't shared feb or march !!
So here they are.
I find them an ideal way to use any leftover bits & pieces from my Scrapagogo kit.

Feb- including valentines day, more snow, receiving my scouting wood badge and teaching at my first Scrapagogo day event.
March- including Harriet's birthday, Dan's surgery, mothers day and the GoGo Getaway retreat.

Fun times

At the end of last week I was lucky enough to get away for a few days with a great bunch of ladies for some scrapping, laughing , eating and more laughing !!! Many thanks to Deb and Jak for organising it all. My table mates Jilly and Mary kept me throughly entertained.
I just had to blog this pic of Kirsty and I, we don't get to meet very often but when we do... she is so much fun ! Also she has lost an amazing amount of weight-nearly 4 stone I believe and she looks so fab , well done Hun .Here is a Lo with a pic of us both taken a year ago.
On Saturday Paul took Harriet and Matthew to the LG Arena to see the Black Eyed Peas.

Harriet was particularly pleased when she realised that Cheryl Cole was their support act.

So we all had a very busy, happy weekend

Great day out

On sunday I drove my mum, Matthew and Harriet to Birmingham to watch the European Gymnastic Championships. The tickets were a very thoughtful christmas gift from my brother.
Sunday was ladies individual apparatus finals day.
We had a number of British ladies in these finals, but the one who got the most cheers was Beth Tweddle.

It was a really proud moment to hear the National Anthem being played not once but twice !
WELL DONE BETH- 2 golds for floor and asymmetric bars.

Now I'd like tickets for the Olympics, if your reading this Andrew !

April Kit ...part 2

This page - 1956 shows a photo of my MIL on her honeymoon in Newquay in the most stunning halter necked dress. I used the embroidery floss in the kit to sew 2 types of stitches on this page, cross and chain stitch.

This page is Hand made, documenting a hand embroidered blouse my Gran has made & is wearing in the photo. The original pic was poor quality so I've printed this scanned copy on to canvas paper. I had so much fun adding all the embellishments to this page, the Prima pebbles and the Jenni Bowlin buttons are just so gorgeous. I also used the add on stamp to create a scalloped border.
