My Month in Numbers - April x

I really enjoy doing this unusual type of monthly round up. It helps me see our lives in a totally different light & also starts me thinking about the Project Life pages I'm still to start for the same month & gets my head in the right place to begin them.
So here is April.

38.2 miles power walked - I didn't get much chance mainly due to Easter hols.
7 Hot cross buns, toasted & buttered, consumed over the Easter Holidays.
£119.15 - the saving I made on dies I purchased during the Sizzix uk sale.
11 blogs written - seems to be about average this year.
20 years since I first met these Ladies at an Aqua Swimming lesson & we now have 24 children between us!!
188 miles I drove to experience the most wonderful day at Windsor castle watching Dan march in the Queens Scout Parade alongside 500 other Queen Scouts.
3 fabulous weekends spent with scrapping Ladies :)2 actually scrapping & 1 teaching at the GoGo Getaway.

£80.50 - raised at a Macmillan Girls Night In, what a great night it was too full of food, laughter & party games :D
S17 & 18 - Our seats at the LG Arena to see  the wonderful Gary Barlow x
Thats all folks.

First 25 happy days!

I've been loving doing this #100 happy days challenge I first found on Facebook. I think it's mainly because in this busy world we live in, it helps me register the small things that you can sometimes miss & recognise that I do indeed live a happy life.
I wanted to record this challenge as part of my Project life & found the perfect page protectors from Becky Higgins at Sarah's Cards shop.
This is what I have included in March.
I stated the challenge on the 7th( for no good reason other than this is the day I first saw it) so hence why there are 25 photos in March.
I used the Instaframe app to create the collage plus rhonna designs app to add the numbers prior to printing them 4x4 in square. I added the details of each photo on a 3x4 journalling card.
So far I am still up to date with this challenge & don't seem to find it a chore like I have with other photo challenges I've attempted in the past. So I hope to share more of these images again soon x

Project Life - March.

Here are my Project Life style pages for March showcasing another busy Rowlands family month including...
 ... Rugby dinner, a Rugby tour, D of E award, Scr@p retreat...
... birthday meal, lunch with friends, cinema & show trips...
This insert covers a busy weekend ...
...friends to stay, Chase Walk Challenge, Birthday celebrations...

...trip to Birmingham for a Birthday lunch, Hobbycrafts show, Chess win, friend to stay...
... GoGo Getaway 12, Ladies night, Mothers Day...
I'm continuing to try & keep my pages simple & use up the memorabilia I hoard! plus using up old supplies & paper. This month I dug out a few old stamp sets to use & having them to hand meant that they do feature on these pages :)I need to remember to do that again next month x

SIPIDI - April

It's that time of the month again when fans of Pinterest gather at Fiona's blog to share something in the aptly named " See it, Pin it, Do it"
Up to now all my SIPIDI"s have been food orientated so I thought it was time for a change this month :)
On a lovely day x

The inspiration layout is here. The circle background was designed by a friend & cut using my silhouette cameo.
I'm really pleased with the finished result and can see me doing something similar again using up left over scraps of a paper collection.
Hop on over to  see what others have pinned for inspiration x

A little bit of Sunshine x

I hope you are having a lovely Bank Holiday weekend & the weather is still good where you live.I may be fair skinned but I do love warm weather & the way it makes me feel x

I'm reminded that I hadn't shared this quick page with you, showcasing a couple of polaroid's taken last summer in Durban. The colour of the sky & the sea are so vivid even in these small snaps.

Looking at this makes me want to get my summer holiday plans sorted.
Where would you like to visit this summer ?

Using Freebies x

The mid month card challenge over at Scrapology is to make a card using freebies which would other wise sit around gathering dust!
As I don't tend to buy magazines which include free papers or stamps I turned my attention to other freebies that I have trouble throwing away & store ready to be the finishing touch to a page or project.

Firstly a card using clothing tags & a stamped sentiment.

This card was made using the spare buttons that you find inside clothing, sewn into place with contrasting thread. I'll add a sentiment when I come to send it as it would be great for an anniversary, engagement...

I hope you like these examples, hop on over to our blog to see many other freebies in use & details of the prize on offer x

Jot 5

I wonder if you have found this fabulous online FREE magazine for scrapbookers called Jot. It heralds from Australia & has its pages crammed with ideas & inspirarion. Issue 5 has just been released & you can also download the previous issues too.

I was very lucky to get a page in this most recent addition in the Boys section.
This photo was taken of my eldest on his last day at school when his year group staged a prison breakout!! They all bought orange jumpsuits via e bay & using my silhouette to cut a mask I stencilled his t-shirt to finish off his costume.

Inmate.
I cut a second mask so I could stencil the background of this page which I also stamped with days & months using Studio Calico stamps.
The numbers & handcuffs are silhouette cut files.
Hop on over to Jot as you won't be disappointed by their superb e zine x

GoGo Getaway.

Last weekend we all had a fabulous weekend at the 12th GoGo Getaway. I had such a lovely time that the weekend just whizzed by not helped by the clocks going back an hour!

I designed & taught 3 classes for the event.
Felted Fancies.
Making felt flowers to compliment this beautiful Prima paper.
Days Documented.
A project life style page.
Sew Festive.
Using a template to create a sewn embellishment to co ordinate with the Simple Stories papers.
I'm now looking forward to the next GoGo event later this year x

V is for Verse.

Over on the Scrapology blog this month's sketch challenge is live and with it we were challenged to use a Verse.
Initially I thought this would be hard but I headed over to Pinterest & in fact found loads of quotes I liked & pinned. This travel one seemed to really suit me so I used this to inspire the rest of the page.

You mean the World to me.

I didn't want to use flowers with my travel theme so replaced them with Carta Bella stickers , stamps & die cuts. The globe is a Silhouette cut file & the planes are a punch.
This is the original sketch.
Hop on over to the blog to see more great examples & this months prize x
